Join the Miller Park Zoological Society and Honorary Co-Chairs Dee Frautschi and Al Bedell at Destination ZooDo on Saturday September 20th from 5 to 9 pm. Explore Miller Park Zoo while enjoying cocktails, appetizers, live music, art experiences, animal encounters and unique silent auction items before heading to the historic Miller Park Pavilion for a delicious dinner and live auction. Each year at the ZooDo gala, the Miller Park Zoological Society kicks off fundraising efforts for a new project at the Zoo. This year, we are excited to begin fundraising funds for a new habitat for our Southern Ground Hornbills, “Morticia & Wednesday”!
The Southern Ground Hornbills inhabit grasslands in the southern region of Africa. They are known for their large size, vibrant color, entertaining personalities, and cultural significance.
This vulnerable species has become endangered in certain areas of Africa due to habitat destruction, slow birth rate, and illegal poaching.
With your support, the Miler Park Zoo can play a significant role in the conservation efforts of this magnificent species.
