A Festival of Colors: Holi Moli in Bloomington-Normal

Celebrate spring in the most vibrant way possible at A Festival of Colors: Holi Moli, a high-energy, family-friendly event that brings global tradition and local community together. Hosted in Uptown Normal, this experience invites visitors and residents alike to step into a joyful celebration rooted in culture, connection, and color.

A Global Tradition, Celebrated Locally

Every spring, the Indian subcontinent celebrates Holi, a two-day festival rooted in Hindu mythology that honors the triumph of good over evil and the arrival of spring. One of the most well-known origin stories tells of the demon king Hiranyakashipu and his son Prahlada, whose devotion ultimately prevailed, symbolizing resilience, faith, and the victory of good. Another beloved tradition celebrates the playful love between Krishna and Radha, an enduring story that helped inspire the custom of sharing color.

Today, that tradition lives on through the joyful throwing of brightly colored powder, a gesture that represents love, friendship, and unity. At Holi Moli in Bloomington-Normal, this meaningful celebration comes to life, inviting the community to take part in a vibrant, shared experience that honors culture, connection, and the spirit of togetherness.
