Miller Park Zoo proudly offers a new Zoo touring opportunity for those with sensory sensitivities. The tours are aimed at encouraging those with sensitivities to attend during a quieter time at the Zoo.

The hour-long educational tours kick off in June and will be held on the first and third Thursday of the month. The first Thursday tours will be in the morning from 8:30AM – 9:30AM. The third Thursday tours will be held from 5:00PM – 6:00PM.

The tours will be led by KultureCity-trained Miller Park Zoo staff and feature two animals each month. Both sessions will feature the same animals. Registration is required and the fee for each tour is $5 cash per attendee, payable at the time of the tour. These tours are free for Miller Park Zoological Society Members.

To register, please email Silvia Schuh, at sschuh@cityblm.org. All ages are welcome and encouraged to attend. Spots are limited.

KultureCity was founded in 2013 with the mission to inspire the community to join us in creating a world where all autistic individuals can be accepted, included and fulfill their potential.

To become KultureCity certified, staff members at Miller Park Zoo were trained to recognize guests with sensory needs and how to handle a sensory overload situation. Sensory bags, equipped with noise canceling headphones, fidget tools, and verbal cue cards will also be available.
