Marc Boon and The Day Drinkers – LIVE @ Connie Link Amphitheatre

Marc Boon and the Day Drinkers started out inauspicious enough as a recording project to put a few musicians together who were new to each other. It has turned into a much larger project bringing 16+ musicians together over the course of the last two years. Marc Boon has been a musician in central Illinois for over 50 years as a band leader, singer, guitar and keyboard player. The Day Drinkers are: Don Stahl drums, the late Chris Briggs on bass, Jeff Walker bass, Ray Wiggs keyboards, 3 amazing women as our backup/lead vocalists from ISU Hannah Leisner, Jessica Bella, and Kenzie Ahlman; the guest soloist the soulful Jenae Thomason. Brilliant guitar players from the B/N area; Trefan Owen, Jay Thomason, Kirk Ellis, John Kerner, Burl Torner, and Jerry Erickson. A 7 piece horn section “The Hip Pocket Horns” connects with the older band and these catz are mind blowing. From St Louis Drew Davis on trumpet, Chris Miller /Trumpet, Christopher Deuringer /Tenor, from B/N Michael Archer and Jay Wright/ Trombones, Jeff Estes/ Bari, and Russ Zehr/ Alto.

Music comes from Little Feat, Boz Scaggs, Steely Dan, David Crosby, Doobie Brothers, Tower of Power, Allman Brothers, Larry Carlton plus a bunch more.
