Calling all animal lovers! We’re excited to host local author Emily Buhrow for a book signing/meet & greet for her first book “From Ruff to Riches”
About the book: After impulsively adopting a rescue dog named Beau, a spark ignites in Emily to help save more rescue animals. But how? She certainly can’t adopt them all. She volunteers at an animal rescue and learns about the option to foster animals. Shortly after, she takes home her very first foster dog, Rex. The impact a foster home has on rescue animals is obvious when she brings Rex home. He is a new dog: more confident, less sad, and ready to play. His life and hers have changed for the better. Emily is hooked and has now fostered over 60 animals with her wife, Stephanie.
Join Emily as she shares the from “ruff” to “riches” stories of her foster animals, along with advice, FAQs, resources, and recommendations for those who want to learn about pet fostering. Ruff to Riches is for pet lovers looking for an entertaining read, on-the-fence or soon-to-be fosters who want insight and education, and current pet fosters who enjoy heart-warming adoption stories.
About the Author: Emily Buhrow is an author, dedicated foster animal mom, wife, mother, community volunteer, and real estate agent who has made it her mission to help as many people and animals as possible. Over the last decade, Emily has fostered over 82 animals, and adopted a few along the way. She is also the founder and organizer of a holiday gift drive, Presents for Residents, which ensures that local nursing home residents get a gift of their choice for Christmas. When she’s not volunteering or helping people buy and sell homes, she’s spending time with her wife, son, and pets.
