Join us for an evening of storytelling, nostalgia, and conversation on Tuesday August 26 from 5 to 7 p.m.

Bring your baseball and softball treasures—scrapbooks, jerseys, newspaper clippings, game balls, or anything else—and be ready to share your stories from McLean County diamonds past. Think of this as an opportunity to participate in show and tell for grownups!

The McLean County Museum of History’s next temporary exhibit, More than a Game: A Community History of Baseball and Softball, will open in Spring 2026. We want to hear YOUR McLean County baseball and softball memories before the opening next year.

The event will begin at 5:00 p.m. with light refreshments and time to mingle. At 5:30 p.m., we’ll start show and tell, open mic style. Everyone will get five minutes to share their item, memory, and/or story. We will pass around a signup sheet to determine the order of presenters at the event, so there is no need to register beforehand.

Please note: Items brought for the event will not be accessioned into the collection, but they may help inform and inspire the upcoming exhibit!

Co-curators Bill Kemp and Maria Mears will MC the evening and look forward to connecting with you!
