5th Annual Excel and Beyond Figure Skating Competition
This growing annual event is free for all spectators and welcomes participants of all ages and skill levels, offering a unique opportunity for skaters to compete in a full-size arena environment and qualify for national events. With more than 325 skaters registered across over 500 events, the competition continues to expand and provide meaningful experiences for athletes and spectators alike.
Events offered include:
- Excel Free Skate (part of the National Excel Series)
- Introductory and Aspire Events (part of the Excel National Series)
- Showcase (eligible for qualification for National Showcase)
- Championship Free Skate and Short Program
- Basic Skills – Compete USA Events
- Compulsory/ Jumps/ Spins/ Adult/ Adaptive
Participants will have the opportunity to gain valuable competitive experience and build confidence. Eligible skaters can qualify for the Excel National Festival and Final and National Showcase, and this event is part of the inaugural Prairieland Interclub Skating Series.

42 skaters are part of our local figure skating club, training here at the Bloomington Ice Center. Spectators are encouraged to attend and experience a full weekend of exciting performances, artistry, and athleticism on the ice. Come cheer on our local athletes as they compete at this exciting event.

Dates: May 1 (10AM-8PM), May 2 (8:30 AM-8:30 PM) and May 3 (8AM-3PM)
