Halloween Happenings this October

Spooky season has arrived, folks! Don’t worry, we’re here to help ensure that you won’t miss all of the exciting Halloween events happening in the Bloomington-Normal area this October.

Here are the Halloween-themed events you will want to check out:

Classic Halloween Movies at the Historic Normal Theater

All October

For those of you who are down to be scared this October, head to the Normal Theater for some classic scary films. The Normal Theater will be showing these top spooky classics this month: Hocus Pocus, Beetlejuice, Rocky Horror Picture Show, Nightmare on Elm Street, and more. 4th Annual Eastland Suites Trunk-or-Treat

October 20 | Event Details

Grab your little ghouls and goblins for a night of family-friendly Halloween fun at the Eastland Suites Trunk or Treat! This is an event open and free to the community.


Haunted Trail (Not-So-Scary)

October 21-23 | Event Details

Walk the Constitution Trail and meet some popular superheroes, princesses, wizards, and many other characters! This not-so-scary trail is perfect for little ones as there will also be stations for crafts, face painting, balloon art, and hot chocolate. Bring canned goods for free admission!


Treat Feast

October 28 | Event Details

Uptown Normal businesses will be lining their streets to hand out candy to little goblins and ghouls that visit them! Kids are encouraged to dress up for the event.


Classic Cars and Candy Bars

October 29 | Event Details

This free event allow families to come dressed up in their best Halloween costumes and see classic cars in Miller Park. Kids will receive a Goodie Bag as you exit.


Downtown Trick-or-Treat

October 29 | Event Details

Trick-or-treat from the participating Downtown Bloomington businesses! Business owners will be passing out candy and goodies to the kids that attend.


Halloween Hoopla

October 29 | Event Details

Celebrate Halloween at the Children’s Discovery Museum with spooky science, trick-or-treating in exhibits, hands-on games and activities and much more! Families are encouraged to dress up in costume for the event.


Freaky Friday Fright Night Open Skate

October 29 | Event Details

Come skate at the Bloomington Ice Center in your costume for a Freaky Friday Fright Night! There will also be door prizes, candy, music, and lots of fun!


Haunted Trail (Scary)

October 29-30 | Event Details

The Constitution Trail is the perfect spot to get spooked! Once darkness hits, the goblins and ghouls fill the trail and wait for your arrival. Admission is $3 per person.


Howl at the Farmers Market

October 30 | Event Details

Enjoy the last outdoor Downtown Bloomington Farmers’ Market of the season! Kids are encouraged to dress up in costume and earn ‘Boo Bucks’ that can be spent at participating vendors.


Dress Up Movie – Frankenweenie

October 30 | Event Details

Moviegoers are encouraged to dress up as their favorite Frankenweenie character when they attend this free event! Concessions will be available for purchase.


Heartland Headstart Trunk-or-Treat

October 30 | Event Details

This family-friendly free event is for children 0-3 years old and their siblings. There will be snacks, prizes, and more!
