Constitution Trail

Constitution Trail

The Constitution Trail is one of the most extensive urban multiuse trails in Illinois. The trail is open to walkers, runners, in-line skaters, skateboarders, cyclists, wheelchair users and other non-motorized forms of transportation. With more than 45-miles of hard surface, the Constitution Trail is routinely cited as the best park amenity in the Twin Cities of Normal and Bloomington. The trail consists of the main north-south segment of the trail, called the Illinois Central, and the main east-west segment, called the Bloomer Line. Additional segments include the Northtown, Southtown, Interurban, Collegiate, and Route 66 branches. Numerous parking areas are located adjacent to the trail. Trash receptacles, picnic tables, water fountains, shelters, restrooms, and benches are also available along the trail. During winter months, portions of the trail are cleared of snow.
