From attracting overnight visitors and sporting events to supporting conferences, festivals, and group travel, our mission is to strengthen the local economy and elevate the visibility of our communities through tourism.

Our Strategic Plan
VisitBN conducted a comprehensive strategic planning process that will shape the organization's direction from 2026 to 2031. The process drew from extensive research and engagement conducted from November 2025 through February 2026, including one-on-one interviews, focus groups, surveys capturing input from stakeholders and residents, and a destination stewardship assessment.
Our new plan aims to transform VisitBN from a traditional convention and visitors bureau into a nationally recognized destination organization that grows the visitor economy and improves the community we serve. With the execution of this plan, VisitBN will be positioned to establish Bloomington-Normal as a recognized regional destination where visitors choose to come, stay longer, and return.
