Downtown Bloomington turns back the clock to the 1960s during Cruisin’ Through the Century weekend with an evening of live music, classic cars, family activities, and Route 66 nostalgia around the historic square.

Guests are encouraged to dine in or grab carryout from Downtown Bloomington restaurants before heading to the square when festivities begin at 6:00 p.m. The evening kicks off with Autorama Cruisin’ and classic cars arriving from the Arena to Downtown Bloomington.

Throughout the evening, visitors can enjoy:

  • Live performances from the Illinois Symphony Orchestra and Motown Nation
  • A 1960s costume contest judged by Grand Marshal Jeff Woodard, with prizes including tickets to The Beach Boys on August 13
  • A birthday cake and Route 66 light show projection display on the McLean County Museum of History
  • White Oak Brewing samples featuring Hops on 66
  • Family-friendly activities in the Groovy Zone

The Groovy Zone will feature activities and giveaways from The Corn Crib, the Bloomington Bison, the Bloomington Center for the Performing Arts, and the McLean County Fair.
