Constitution Trail

Bloomington-Normal and cycling are intertwined. From annual bike races to the everyday recreational riders, cycling contributes to the Twin Cities’ vigorous energy and excitement. This is in large part to the Constitution Trail, a 30+ mile, multi-use trail that runs through both Bloomington and Normal.

The Constitution Trail has been a staple in the Bloomington-Normal Community since 1989, the year it had its grand opening. The trail was dedicated and named in celebration of the 200th birthday of the United States. In 2000, it was designated a Millennium Trail by the White House Millennium Council.

In honor of the trail’s 27 years in the community, the Bloomington-Normal Area Convention and Visitors Bureau, the Town of Normal and the City of Bloomington have released a video celebrating the history of the trail. You can watch the video here.
