Event
Survivor Love Letter Gallery (Sexual Assault Awareness Month)
Join us to honor Sexual Assault Awareness Month – Normal Public Library is hosting a Survivor Love Letter gallery full of letters and artwork in support of survivors of sexual assault. Come visit, view the artwork, and even contribute a letter of your own. There will be materials available for visitors to craft their own survivor love letter; to themself, a younger version of themself, a survivor they know, or to a survivor they don’t know.
The gallery will open on Friday, April 15th and will close on Monday, May 2nd. The gallery will be open in accordance with library hours (Monday – Thursday 9am-8pm, Friday & Saturday 9am-5pm, Sunday 1pm-5pm).
This event is hosted in an effort to show community support for survivors and to raise awareness about sexual assault. The works in the gallery will travel to North Carolina in September to greet participants at a Resilient Voices retreat for survivors of sexual assault.
