Event
State Farm Youth Classic
The tournament hosts golfers from ages 3-22 that participate at five different area golf courses. In all years combined, Bloomington-Normal has welcomed players from 26 states and 14 countries. In 2013, the State Farm Youth Classic won the “Outstanding Locally Created Event” award from the National Association of Sports Commissions.
The tournament is conducted the weekend after the Pepsi Little People’s Golf Championships in Quincy, Illinois, as an additional golfing opportunity for youth golfers already traveling through Illinois.
The mission of the State Farm Youth Classic is to provide a competitive, professionally-conducted youth golf tournament, and to generate tourism to the Bloomington-Normal area. Since 2002, SFYC has strived to provide a positive, competitive environment for junior golfers ages 3 through 22 and to assist in their development and growth through golf. In conjunction with community leaders and businesses, SFYC creates an event that brings golfers and their families from all over the world to Bloomington-Normal to generate tourism and positively impact the local economy.
A 25 member committee and the assistance of 6 public golf courses continue to make SFYC a successful annual event. Over 4,800 golfers have competed in the State Farm Youth Classic.
