Really Really Free Market

How it works: People drop things off they don’t want. People take things they want. It’s really that simple. Some people drop and go, some stick around to “shop,” and some stick around to chat. You do not have to bring something to take something. Take all you want, give all you want. You don’t need to trade, barter, ask permission, feel weird, or anything.

The idea is that we don’t want useful “stuff” to end up in the garbage. Also, with all the abundance of “stuff” around us we think people could share “stuff” more and buy “stuff” less. Really Really Free Markets are all over the world. Give it a google.

Remember — you can bring ALMOST anything to this event. We just ask that you don’t bring really big items (like furniture) and nothing inappropriate. Some leftover items are donated to the Mission Mart, and others are saved for the next event. You can also share skills and talents.

The Bloomington Normal Zen Group will be at every RRFM this season teaching people about zazen (Zen meditation), and leading meditation in the park. Bloomington-Normal Zen group will be there providing cushions and space for meditation, and be available to talk to people about meditation.

ALSO: Paws 4 A Cause will be at the RRFM giving out free engraved pet ID tags, and doggie nail trims! Paws 4 A Cause is on a mission to get every pet in McLean county microchipped and/or wearing an ID tag in case of a natural disaster. We will have an engraving machine to make free tags and information about upcoming Microchip clinics.
