Eaton Gallery presents photographs and paintings of ParkLands Nature Preserves along the Mackinaw River. ParkLands is celebrating their 50th anniversary and Eaton Gallery is celebrating with a May exhibit of work by two local artists who appreciate and capture the beauty of the area in their photographs, paintings, sculpture, and published books and journals. Please join Mary Jo Adams and Herb Eaton in celebrating the beauty of these local preserved lands.

Nature fascinates me with its hidden treasures of colors, shapes and patterns that I discover when I explore and walk slowly. The texture and the movement of water captures my fascination. Even when it is “still” it has a dynamic to it that is wonderful. My hope is to capture that in my photos and to capture the beauty that appears before my eyes when I go outside to explore the river and land around me. Mary Jo Adams

The river and streams, the thickets, and enveloping fields of the Mackinaw Watershed in my paintings, drawings, sculptures, and printed works capture the images I have experienced for 50 years. Reveling in nature and recording the experience in my art is my expression of sharing a land that to me is on the Edge of the Smile of God. Herb Eaton
