Ken Lam Director of ISO presents: The Present and Future of the Illinois Symphony Orchestra.
Bring your brown bag lunch to the Museum’s continuing series, featuring engaging and enlightening topics for discussion. Join us the second Thursday of every month from now until May for a new topic to explore and discuss.
This month Ken Lam, Music Director of Illinois Symphony Orchestra, will discuss the present and future of the Illinois Symphony Orchestra. He will share a bit about his background and how he moved from the law to conducting. He will share very briefly about the search year during the 2016-2017 season, touch briefly on his work in Charleston (where he also serves as Music Director), and finally about current season: what went well, what he enjoyed here, and getting connected with the community. Additionally, Liam will also share what is in store for the upcoming 2018-2019 season and how a season gets put together.
This program is free and open to the public and will be held in the Gov. Fifer Courtroom on the 2nd floor of the Museum. This program is sponsored by Illinois Wesleyan University and the McLean County Museum of History.
