ISU Speaker Series: William L. White International Forum
VCSCA Co-sponsors Third Annual William L. White International Forum at ISU
Mark D. Steinberg, professor in the Department of History, as well as the Department of Slavic Languages and Literatures and the Unit for Criticism and Interpretive Theory, at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, will present his talk “The Russian Revolution as Utopian Leap” at the 3rd annual William L. White International Forum at 7:00 pm on Thursday, October 25 in the Old Main Room at the Bone Student Center, Illinois State University, Normal.
The talk is part of the Speaker Series at Illinois State University. The VCSCA is a co-sponsor of this event, and association members are invited to join a private reception with the speaker from 5:30–6:45. The forum is named in honor of the late Bill White, who was a pioneer, mentor, and founding member of VCSCA. White led 4 trips to the Soviet Union before the Association was organized in 1989, and served on numerous committees until his death in 2015.
