ISU Civic Engagement Celebration
Illinois State University’s annual Civic Engagement Celebration will take place on April 12, from 2:30 to 4 p.m., at the Circus Room in Bone Student Center.
Doors open at 2:30 p.m. for light appetizers and this year’s Civic Engagement Exhibition. The Exhibition will feature table displays from University units with a civic engagement focus as well as poster presentations from faculty, staff, and students.
A short program will begin at 3 p.m. featuring University leadership, and then the winners of the University’s 2022 Civic Engagement Awards will be announced. Following the award presentations will be additional time for the Exhibition.
“This is an important, annual event for the University,” said Harriett Steinbach, assistant director at the Center for Civic Engagement. “Each year we take time to uplift the University’s core value of civic engagement by celebrating the amazing work taking place across our campus and in our community.”
“And when we publicly acknowledge this work,” Steinbach continued, “we also increase awareness of the ways that other individuals could also become involved.”
The Civic Engagement Celebration is a free event, and no advance registration is required.
