Illinois State Button Society

“Wild, Wacky, Wonderful Wood Buttons”

Button collectors from across the state will travel to Bloomington Normal
This week for the Illinois State Button Society’s Annual Show and Convention on
April 14th – 16th ,2022 Holiday Inn Bloomington- Bloomington-Normal 8 Traders Circle
Normal IL 61761

Button dealers from six states will be selling clothing buttons dating from the 1700’s to the present day.

Buttons and mounting cards will be available for purchase.

Visitors will also be able to view an educational display, complete with information on the
History of buttons, their uses and original method of sale.

Visitors are encouraged to bring along any buttons of their own to be analyzed by the button
Vendors who might be able to help identify the age and material.
A silent auction will occur throughout the duration of the event, with over twenty items available
for bidding. In addition to the sale and show, members have entered buttons of different time
periods and various materials such as Pearl, Metal, Bakelite, Enamels, Black Glass and Glass from the Czech Republic to be judged. Junior Members will also complete in two different
categories.

The convention is free and open to the public. Convention hours are 6:30 -9:00 pm on Thursday, 1-5 p.m. on Friday, and 9 a.m.-2 p.m. on Saturday.

Since 1941, the Illinois State Button Society has been dedicated to the collection and preservation of antique and collectible sewing buttons.
