Home, Lawn, and Garden Day 2023


Make your garden glow with educational classes, inspirational speakers, and horticulture treasures from a variety of exceptional businesses and organizations at the 21st Annual Home, Lawn, and Garden Day sponsored by University of Illinois Extension McLean County Master Gardeners. This event will take place from 8 a.m. to 12:40 p.m., on Saturday, March 11 at Central Catholic High School in Bloomington. Registration is now open through March 1 but remember to register early as workshops fill fast!

Attendees will attend four educational presentations on trending horticulture topics. Ella Maxwell, horticulturist, and certified arborist, will open the morning exciting us all with “Waking Up Your Garden: Getting Ready for Spring.” Spring garden chores will set the tone for your season-long success in your garden. Learn what chores are necessary for spring and Ella will share what has worked for her.

Keynote speaker Melinda Myers, TV/radio host, author, and columnist will inspire us all to incorporate easy care plants that provide nutrition, fragrance, and beauty throughout our landscape. Plus, she will provide big-impact plant combinations that are sure to maximize your garden’s beauty and deliver enjoyment for years to come. Melinda will also discuss space and energy-efficient garden design tricks to keep your gardening even when time, energy, and space are limited.
