Historic Portrayals – Normal 1-5-0


Portrayals will start at: 12pm, 2pm, & 4pm

Professional actors will portray:

  • Jesse Fell and Edwin Bakewell arguing over a land transaction between Bakewell and Illinois State Normal University
  • Ellis and Martha Fisher Dillon, owners of Dillon Stables
  • Julia Duff who was born in Normal, taught school in Tulsa where she witnessed the tragic race riots of the early 1920’s, and returned to Normal until her death in 1984
  • Mary Potter from The Illinois Soldiers’ & Sailors’ Children’s School

Storytellers will tell tales of Hester Fell, the ISU Riot following Kent State, and Dr. Robert Bone.
