ERA Illinois Coalition of Bloomington-Normal’s Campaign Kickoff Event

The ERA Illinois Coalition of Bloomington-Normal announces a Campaign Kickoff Event Thursday, July 27, from 7-9 p.m. at the Hyatt Place in Uptown Normal. The event will be held under the stars on the rooftop terrace and will include speakers, performances by two musicians, chocolate desserts, prizes, and a cash bar.
A bi-partisan coalition of voters in central Illinois are organizing to raise awareness of the Equal Rights Amendment and advocate for its ratification in Illinois.
General tickets are $30 and benefactor tickets are $100. Tickets may be ordered through www. blono4era.org . Tickets can also be purchased at the door for cash or check only.
Joanne Maitland has been named Honorary Chair of the Coalition.
Marita Brake, a nationally known recording artist based in Bloomington, will perform “The ERA Song.”
Sara Quah will be playing music from her recently released CD, Taking Me Back.
The Coalition is supported by The League of Women Voters, Action for a Better Tomorrow, Delta Sigma Theta Society, McLean County Coalition for Equal Pay, Voices of Reason, Feminists Instigating Social Transaction, Indivisible IL-13, Indivisible IL-18 and the Womens’ March Illinois.
