The Economic Impact of Art and Culture in Bloomington-Normal presented by Prof. Diego Mendez-Carbajo
Arts Alliance Illinois has estimated the State-wide monetary impact of the nonprofits Arts & Culture industry to be $2.75 billion. In Bloomington-Normal the 16 largest Arts & Culture organizations (the McLean County Museum of History, the Illinois Shakespeare Festival, the Illinois Symphony Orchestra, among others) have a combined $6.2 million annual budget. In this presentation Prof. Diego Mendez – Carbajo will discuss their estimated local economic impact.
Bring your brown bag lunch to the Museum’s series, featuring engaging and enlightening topics for discussion. Join us the second Thursday of every month from now until May for a new topic to explore and discuss. The programs are held in the Museum’s Governor Fifer Courtroom from 12:10-12:40 p.m. each time. The Spring 2016 series will run January – May. These programs are free and open to the public and sponsored by Illinois Wesleyan University, the McLean County Museum of History, and the Collaborative Solutions Institute.
