Ewing Manor, located on the Sunset Hill estate of the late Hazle Buck Ewing, sits majestically on 6.5 acres of wooded landscape in Bloomington, Illinois.
Completed in 1929 in the Channel-Norman style so favored by the affluent in the post-Victorian period, Ewing Manor embodies the grace, practicality and natural beauty envisioned by its original owner, Hazle Buck Ewing. The Ewings were inspired by their trip around the world, and they brought back many ideas and sketches for designing their residence. They hired Phil Hooton as their architect. Also located on the grounds are the Genevieve Green Gardens and the Theatre at Ewing, which hosts the annual Illinois Shakespeare Festival
