Community Art Showcase

Inside Out: Accessible Art Cooperative and Bloomington Parks and Recreation are co-sponsoring the first ever Community Art Showcase at Miller Park Pavilion on Sunday, April 12 from 1-3 PM. Both the public and local artists are encouraged to participate. The purpose of the event is to allow all community members to enjoy the work that is being created by local talented artists, including both amateurs and professionals. In addition, community members will learn about local art venues and how they can become involved in creating and enjoying art. The art show will have no admission charge and will be family friendly. Attendees may participate in determining awards to be given by voting for favorite artworks with pennies. Awards will be provided to artists in several categories based on this vote. Exhibiting artists must be preregistered no later than March 31st and must be present to discuss their artwork with those in attendance. Participation in the show is open to local artists of all experience levels and ages, elementary school through adult, including amateur and professional artists. Artists are invited to register from now until March 31st at the Inside Out gallery at 318 N. Main. Each artist may bring one or two pieces. There is an application to complete and a $1 registration fee, no jury process . Further details will be provided to registered artists. Artwork will not be available for purchase at this event, however artists who offer work for sale or who provide instruction to others may provide contact information to distribute at the show.
