BCPA Free Dance Master Class


INTERNATIONALLY-RENOWNED CHOREOGRAPHER
TO HOLD FREE DANCE MASTER CLASS AT BCPA

World-renowned choreographer, Kenneth Von Heidecke will offer a free Master Class to the community on Sunday, November 12th from 1 – 2 pm at the Bloomington Center for the Performing Arts (BCPA). The Master Class is for student’s aged 12 – adult. Younger students are invited to watch the Master Class. Class size is limited so please reserve your spot by contacting Ann-Marie Dittmann at 309.434.2766

Immediately following the Master Class, auditions will be held from 2 – 4 pm for dancers aged 6-17 to cast various roles in the Chicago Festival ballet production of The Nutcracker, which will be presented at the BCPA on Thursday, December 28, 2017. Students with gymnastic ability are also welcome.

“This will be the first time this magical production featuring an array of internationally-renowned principal dancers, lavish scenery, sets and exquisite costumes comes to life here in Bloomington.” said Ann-Marie Dittman, Assistant Performing Arts Manager of the BCPA, adding “The production has toured both the United States and Canada earning many rave reviews and such awards as the “Key to the City” presented to Mr. Von Heidecke on stage at the Jackie Gleason Center for the Performing Arts in Miami Beach, FL.”

All students arriving at the theater that day will be eligible for rolls in this touring production of The Nutcracker which will be presented December 28th, 2017 at the Bloomington Center for the Performing Arts. Rehearsals will be held once a week for one hour for approximately 4 to 6 weeks prior to the show.
