Autism McLean Spider Saloff Benefit Concert

From Gershwin to Cole Porter, a renowned interpreter of the Great American Songbook, Spider Saloff, returns to Bloomington-Normal April 27th for a fundraiser concert to support Autism McLean at Heartland Community College, Astroth Community Education Center Auditorium. Doors open at 6 pm for drinks and light snacks catered by Baxter’s American Grille. The cabaret program begins at 7:30 pm.

Saloff is famed for her jazz stylings that have captivated audiences from New York to Chicago clubs, plus international appearances in London, St. Petersburg and Poland. She has appeared at New York’s Lincoln Center, the Smithsonian Institution, Ravina Music Festival and Chicago’s Auditorium Theater. In New York she performs at Birdland and Feinstein’s, in Chicago at the Green Mill and the Jazz Showcase.

The New York Times says Saloff has “a wicked way with a lyric and a glint of self-controlled mischief.” In hometown Chicago, the Chicago Tribune wrote that she is “Slyly sophisticated, easily accessible, Saloff stands as a kind of ideal.”
