Art Scavenger Hunt at Bloomington’s Downtown Galleries

Art Scavenger Hunt for Kids
First Friday-Downtown Bloomington, Il Oct 7, 2016 5-8:00pm
The Downtown Bloomington Artists present the second annual Art Scavenger Hunt for grade school children on October 7 from 5pm to 8pm as part of the First Friday celebration. Scavenger Hunt forms will be available at participating galleries and studios the night of the hunt. School children are asked to match types of art to specific artists by visiting several galleries in the Downtown area. Artists will be present to meet children and their parents and answer any questions. This is an opportunity for children to explore different types of art in a gallery or studio environment and meet the artists who created them. This is a family friendly event.
Each completed form earns a small prize when turned in and will be eligible for a door prize drawing for a choice of prize packages donated by Dick Blick and the Downtown Bloomington Artists. Prizes are packages of art supplies including drawing pads, pencil sets, a table top easel, colored pencils, crayons and more. Completed forms must be turned in at Three Square Studio, 104 W. Monroe St by 7:30. Shortly afterwards names will be randomly drawn at Three Square Studio. Participants must be present to win.
The downtown artists hope to nurture a new generation of artists as well as help develop an appreciation for art by introducing children to local-living artists and their work in the environment of a studio or gallery. Downtown Bloomington contains more than a dozen art galleries and open studios representing more than a hundred artists.
