A Raisin in the Sun – Preview Performance
This story follows the Younger family and their struggle to decide how best to use the life-changing insurance money given to them after a death in the family. On the surface, it explores the struggle of Black America to gain middle-class acceptance, dealing with issues such as housing discrimination, racism and assimilation. But A Raisin in the Sun also reminds us what it means to dream big, and how we all need the support of those closest to us to keep the faith and discover new dreams when life throws the unexpected.
A Raisin in the Sun opens at Community Players Theatre on Thursday, January 6th with a pay-what-you-can preview performance at 7:30 p.m. The show runs two weekends in January (January 7-9 & 14-16, 2021). Friday & Saturday performances start at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday performances at 2:30 p.m.
Performances are held at Community Players Theatre at 201 Robinhood Lane in Bloomington.
