The Artsy Couple
First: Start celebrating Valentine’s Day on Feb. 13th and head to Merlot and a Masterpiece in Downtown Bloomington, where you and your loved one can create a beautiful, love-related piece of artwork. They also are offering take-home kits if you would prefer to get crafty in the comfort of your own home! Find their class schedule here.
Next: No Valentine’s Day would be complete without a romantic dinner. Also in Downtown Bloomington, Reality Bites offers a sophisticated, fun dining experience. This tapas restaurant serves a diverse menu with a fully stocked bar. They also have curbside pickup available!
Finally: Head to Uptown Normal to enjoy a classic film at the Normal Theater. Built in 1937, this one-screen now shows classics, independent and world cinema films. This Valentine’s Day weekend they’ll be showing one of THE most romantic movies of all time, Casablanca. Here’s looking at you, kid!
The Sporty Couple
First: Bring your date to a romantic skate! The Bloomington Ice Center will be open from 2-4pm for people to come and skate while listening to love songs.
Next: Watch your hometown team take on Southern Illinois on Valentine’s Day at 3pm. Enjoy drinks and cheeseballs at Pub II and watch the Redbirds on the big screen.
Finally: If you’re up for a little friendly competition with your loved one, check out All Seasons Golf Learning Center. Their TopTracer Range is a video game and golf all wrapped into one fun experience! Track your shots, improve your skills, and even play one another in a game. The Golf Learning Center has also partnered with their adjoining neighbor, BloNo Pizza Co. to bring visitors pizza and drinks directly to their bays. It may be chilly this weekend, but the good news is that the bays are heated!
