Go for a Winter Hike in the BN Area

Winter is no time to stop exploring the outdoors! Many of our nature areas are at their prettiest in the winter. Here are a few parks that are open that you will want to check out during these cold months ahead.

Moraine View State Recreation Area

When the season brings sufficient snow, 7 miles of trails are open for cross-country skiing, and the field trial trails accommodate the higher horsepower of snowmobiles. When the ice is thick enough, you can enjoy ice fishing and ice skating on Dawson Lake.

Sugar Grove Nature Center

From dawn to dusk, the Sugar Grove Nature Trails are open for winter hikers, cross-country skiers, and snow-shoers! This winter wonderland has a numerous trails for you to explore with various distances and terrains.

Comlara State Park

There are approximately 10+ miles of scenic trails for you to explore while cross-country skiing or hiking at Comlara! You can expect beautiful views and various terrains while you hike your way through Comlara State Park. Ice fishing is also a popular past time out at Evergreen Lake throughout the winter season!
