SixtySix Games E-Sports Tournament Presented by State Farm
The BNACVB and Sports Commission are also proud to announce State Farm® as title sponsor of the Sixty Six Games Esports Tournament.
“We are excited to present a new event to our community – one that draws a new category of tourists to BN,” says Matt Hawkins, Sports Marketing Manager for the Bloomington-Normal Area Convention and Visitors Bureau/Sports Commission. “The esports tournament marks another great addition to our ever-expanding sports market. In addition, we are thrilled to collaborate with State Farm, and look forward to working together to grow the tournament.”
The event is central Illinois’ first sanctioned, live and in-person League of Legends Tournament. The Sixty Six Games Esports Tournament presented by State Farm will feature a college/open tournament, a high-school only tournament and a one-on-one tournament. The college/open tournament will begin on Saturday at 10 am and will be the best of three with a double elimination. The first-place team will receive $1,000, the second-place team will receive $650 and the third-place team will receive $350. The high school division tournament will begin on Saturday at noon and will be the best of three with a double elimination. Trophies will be given out to the top winners. The one-on-one will begin on Sunday at 8 am.
The Sixty Six Games presented by State Farm is owned and operated by the Bloomington-Normal Sports Commission, and is organized by an ad hoc committee consisting of representatives from the Bloomington-Normal Sports Commission, Bloomington-Normal Area Convention & Visitors Bureau, Central Illinois Regional Broadband Network, PlayNormal Esports, District 87, Red Raccoon Games, Illinois Wesleyan University, Metcalf School, and Grossinger Motors Arena. The estimated direct economic impact for hosting the Sixty-Six Games Esports Tournament is $27,560.
